Dato’ Dr. Sherwin Chew faced several challenges during his early career, but his visit to Beijing proved to be a turning point. He was inspired by the booming private equity sector and established Potential Excelerate Group Ltd (PEGH) in 2012, an investment holding company that consolidates capital, human resources, capabilities, and networking to help businesses expand their operations and explore new growth opportunities to enhance stakeholder value.
Within a few shorts years of its establishment, PEGH invested in eight successful businesses, many of which operate within the technological sector. Dato’ Dr. Sherwin Chew’ ‘s expertise in mergers and acquisitions has seen him lead several successful deals in various industries, including mining and refinery, healthcare, and food and beverages industries. PEGH has also invested in several public listed companies that are proudly listed on Bursa Malaysia.
In January 2021, Dato’ Dr. Sherwin Chew was appointed as the Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) of China Foreign Trade Council, a testament to his business acumen and leadership skills. He is also the founder of Actcelerate International Group Ltd, which was listed on the National Stock Exchange of Australia in August 2018. Actcelerate International Group Ltd is a diversified investment company focused on investing in information and communications technology, new age retail, financial services, and green technology in the Asia-Pacific region.
Recently, Dato’ Dr. Sherwin Chew was appointed as Non-Independent & Non-Executive Deputy Chairman for Scanwolf Corporation Berhad, a public listed company on the Bursa Malaysia stock exchange. The company has its own manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and exports its products to various countries in Asia, Europe, and the United States. The Group’s business is in plastic extrusion manufacturing, vinyl floor manufacturing, and property development.
